Anya is having a rough time fitting in at school, but that starts to change when she makes a new supernatural friend. If you’re looking to add a graphic novel to your summer reading, look no further. With sleek art and a wickedly wonderful storyline, this story will be right at home on your tbr.
4) A Thousand Pieces of You
Journey across dimensions with Marguerite, as she tracks down her father’s murderer. If you’ve ever been curious about what it would be like to step into an alternate universe, this book has you covered. Marguerite’s parents were physicists that figured out how to travel between dimensions. When their assistant, Paul, goes rogue and kills Marguerite’s dad and escapes into a new dimension, Marguerite goes after him, seeking vengeance. An exciting adventure just right for filling your summer Sci-Fi fix!
5) Zombies vs. Unicorns Edited by Holly Black and Justine Larbalestier
This anthology is perfect for the short story fan. The battle for best creature has never been cooler, as YA authors write stories about either Zombies or Unicorns to prove that their favorite is the best. Find out if you’re on Team Zombie or Team Unicorn by reading through this collection of stories. With such variety, you’re bound to find a story that will cement your love for one or the other. 6) Paper Towns by John Green
With the movie adaptation hitting theaters this summer, now is the perfect time to pick this one up. Q has been in love with Margo Roth Spiegelman ever since they were little kids, and his world changes when she shows up at his house one night to take him on an epic pranking adventure. When she disappears the next day, Q and his friends set out to find her. Along the way, he learns a thing or two about people. This thoughtful book is not to be missed for fans of realistic fiction.
7) 13 Little Blue Envelopes By Maureen Johnson
This book perfectly captures the spirit of summer adventure; something we love here at RBS2k15. Ginny receives 13 envelopes from her deceased aunt, the first instructing her to go to London. Follow her adventure through Europe as she goes on a quest to follow the instructions inside the envelopes. This book is a literary vacation worth taking.
